The pay-per-check API · x402 on Solana

SEO and AI-visibility checks for agents.

Keyword data, rankings, audits, AI citations — your agent buys them per check, $0.005–0.30 a call in USDC on Solana. No API key, nothing stored about you — the wallet is the account.

give this to your agent

set up https://citable.run/skill.md

and let it take it from there — it reads the endpoints and prices, pays per call, and comes back with the data.

Not an agent? Run checks from your browser — or try the free check first.

Product

One API. Three ways in.

Hand your agent the skill file, call the endpoints over HTTP, or mount them as MCP tools — same endpoints, same per-call prices.

01skill file
agent-native

Hand it the skill file

One line in your agent's chat. It reads the endpoints and prices from skill.md and pays per call from its own wallet.

agent chat
› set up https://citable.run/skill.md
// reads 11 endpoints + prices
// pays per call, returns JSON
02http api

Call it like any URL

Plain HTTP with x402 payments. Reading the price is free; any x402 client pays and retries on its own.

curl
$ curl -i \
    https://citable.run/v1/keyword-suggest?q=…
HTTP/1.1 402 Payment Required // price in the header
// an x402 client pays $0.01, retries, gets 200 JSON
03mcp server
included

Mount it in Claude or Cursor

The bundled MCP server exposes every endpoint as a tool with its price. It brings its own wallet; one env var caps spend.

bun run mcp
CITABLE_MAX_PRICE=0.25
citable_prices free
citable_keyword_suggest $0.005
citable_onpage_audit $0.01
citable_ai_visibility $0.05/engine

How it works

402 → pay → 200. That's the whole integration.

Any x402-capable client handles the loop on its own.

01request
402

Server quotes the price

Price, USDC mint, pay-to address, expiry — in the response header.

02pay
$0.012

Agent pays the quote, Solana settles

A USDC transfer for exactly the quoted amount — ~400 ms. The facilitator covers the network fee, no SOL needed.

03data
200

Same request, JSON back

No key to store, no invoice, no monthly bill.

Pricing

Per call. Nothing else.

$0.005–0.30 per call, no minimums, no credits to preload, no card on file. Every endpoint's price is in the docs and in its 402 header.

Estimate your month

100

$0.005 each — autocomplete expansions and questions

30

$0.01 each — audit, apply the fixes, re-audit

200

$0.012 each — one keyword, one domain, one SERP

20

$0.05 per engine — $0.20 across all four

10

$0.18–0.25 each — cited prompts, top pages, trend, share of voice

Your estimated bill

$9.20/mo

360 calls, paid one at a time. No plan to fit inside — the bill is exactly the calls you made.

FAQ

Questions we get.

Where does the data come from?

On-page audits: we fetch and parse the page ourselves. Keyword suggestions: public autocomplete from Google, YouTube and Bing, expanded about 55 ways per seed, deduped and ranked. Rank checks: a licensed SERP feed. AI visibility: we query the engines through their official APIs and parse the citations — no scraping, ever.

Do I need an account or API key?

Not with Citable. We keep nothing about you; the wallet is the identity. Agents bring a keypair. If you don't use crypto, sign in with Google or email at citable.run/app — that creates a wallet at Para, a wallet provider, not an account with us.

Does my agent need SOL for fees?

No. The facilitator covers the network fee. The agent only holds USDC.

What if a call fails?

You are not charged. Any 4xx or 5xx cancels the payment; only a delivered result is settled.

I'm not technical — can I still use it?

Yes. Sign in with your email at citable.run/app, add a few dollars, and run any check in the browser at the same prices. The free check needs nothing at all.

How do I use it from Claude or Cursor?

Run the included MCP server — no env vars needed. Ask it to set up a wallet: sign in with Google or email and add a few dollars, or send USDC to the keypair it creates at ~/.config/citable/agent.json. Tools appear with their prices. CITABLE_MAX_PRICE refuses any over-priced call before anything is signed.
